"Hi everybody,
I am currently not restocking parts and regulators when I sell out. Those of you who have visited my website recently would have noticed that there is a lot less shown on the website, especially regulators.
I am back doing full time electrical contracting again, which means the eShop is done after hours.
This is obviously not ideal for you, the customers, or for my family.
There are a number of reasons for me going back "on the tools", some personal, some because of the unstable economy and not knowing what will happen with Brexit. As you know the HuMa regulators come from the Netherlands (EU), which means my wholesale prices depend on the Pound:Euro exchange rate. The pound has weakened considerably since we voted to leave (was around £1:1.45-50 Euro when I first started selling HuMa regulators, now it is closer to 1:1. I chose to absorb the loss as much as possible, rather than increase my retail prices as the pound weakened.
I also don't know what will happen if we get a no/bad deal with the EU, which would inevitably mean there are further currency fluctuations, possible import duties and customs admin fees to pay on imports. This would mean increasing the prices of regulators, which would put them out of reach for a lot of people. There are a few other reasons regarding suppliers, bank charges, postage price increases etc.
I have reduced the prices of a lot of parts and regulators on my website to clear my stock, so get it while you can. HuMa sells regulators directly via their website, so you can still buy them, just not from me (apart from the few I have left).
I also want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and custom over the years, it is very much appreciated. Unfortunately I can't be in two places at once and I have to choose the option that is best for my family.
I will keep the YouTube and Vimeo channels going so that you have some resources to help you find and fix a load of problems in the future.
Merry Christmas"
